As Kansas City Parks & Recreation celebrates its 125th anniversary, it’s opening a new dog park.
Starting Saturday, July 29, at 4 p.m., Kansas City residents will be able to take their canine friends to the West Terrace Off-Leash Dog Park.
It’s located at 750 Pennsylvania Ave., Kansas City, MO 64106.
The new dog park is member-only and features a fully-enclosed 1.5 acres of space, benches, views of the West Bottoms and Missouri River, a shade pavilion with picnic tables, pet waste bags and two drinking fountains.
It will be open seven days a week, from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.
To celebrate the opening, organizers are holding a “Yappy Hour.” It will include a cash bar, dog splash pool, canine art and more. Membership is not required for this event.
It’s also Saturday, July 29 at 4 p.m.
