Kansas City Public Library offers assistance filing property assessment appeals

Johnson County receives more than 6,000 residential property appraisal appeals

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — It's not too late for Jackson County residents to file an appeal on their property tax assessments.

The deadline to appeal assessments was extended to Sept. 3, and the Kansas City Public Library has set up opportunities for residents to get help from the Legal Aid of Western Missouri to file the appeals.

The dates and times of upcoming appeal assistance sessions throughout the Kansas City area are listed below:

August 14
2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
KC Public Library Southeast Branch at 6343 Swope Parkway

August 15
1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
KC Public Library Central Library at 14 W. 10th St.

August 19
2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
KC Public Library Lucile H. Bluford Branch at 3050 Prospect Ave.

August 20
11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
KC Public Library North-East Branch at 6000 Wilson Rd.

August 21
2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
KC Public Library Plaza Branch at 4801 Main St.

August 27
9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
KC Public Library Waldo Branch at 201 E. 75th St.
