KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Bookworms rejoice: Kansas City Public Library's southeast branch will reopen Tuesday after weeks of renovations.

The library is most proud to announce the branch will have 5,000 new books. The new books includes some for children and adults and will join the existing collection at the library.

The library also received new paint and carpet, plus new computers and new conference and study rooms. The library plans on adding a few more computers and furniture items over the next month.

The next phase of the branch's renovation is to make it the permanent home of the KC Digital Media Lab. Its goal is to connect teenagers with computer tools and software to learn coding and video editing.

The library is open from 10 a.m to 7 p.m. Tuesday. It is located at 6242 Swope Parkway.
