KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Kansas City man drowned in Smithville Lake Friday afternoon, after he jumped in to the lake to retrieve a boat.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, Timothy Margrave, 72, apparently jumped in the water at the Paradise Point boat ramp at about 3:30 Friday afternoon.
After jumping in to retrieve the boat he never resurfaced.
He was not wearing a safety device.
