KANSAS CITY, Mo. — There was a step in the right direction Sunday, for a couple with a newborn who's been without water since Valentine's Day.

41 Action News reported Saturday, that Summer Lea Rose and her fiance Casey Hardiman were getting creative to make ends meet without water.

This included buying paper plates and several cases of water to clean their baby's bottle. The couple has also been melting snow to use the toilet.

"It's really hard," Rose said on Saturday. "Just to try and have everything brand new and ready for him when he comes here, like I've been working on my whole pregnancy, that's really frustrating because it feels like I've been building up all this nice territory for him to come home in a safe environment just for something like this to happen."

On Sunday, Rose said crews from KC Water began digging into the ground in order to investigate what's causing the water outage in the couple's home.

A spokesperson for KC Water previously told 41 Action News the issue was coming from frozen pipes.

Anyone interested in helping the couple can reach them on Facebook on the page "Kc Hard" or Cash App the couple at "mrtoohard."
