KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Kansas City, Kansas, man was charged in connection to a chase that took place on the secure Chiefs parade route Wednesday.
According to police, 42-year-old Addae J. Doyle was charged with resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor DWI.
Court documents state that a green Ford Taurus approached a parade barricade near Front Street and Riverfront Road.
Doyle was the driver and knocked down several barricades. That's when police began a pursuit.
Police said Doyle reached a speed of 60 miles per hour down the parade route until officers deployed stop sticks and deflated the vehicle's tires.
Officers performed a tactical vehicle intervention near Pershing and Grand Boulevard to disable the vehicle and remove Doyle from the car.
After removing Doyle, officers said the found methamphetamine in the car. Doyle tested positive for amphetamines and cocaine.
A $75,000 bond was requested for Doyle.
The investigation is ongoing.
The incident happened around 8:15 a.m., which was before the parade began. No pedestrians were hurt in the pursuit.
