KCK man pleads guilty to attempted murder, other charges

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Kansas City, Kansas, man pleaded guilty on Friday to several charges stemming from events in 2017 and 2018, according to Johnson County officials.

Jacob R. Chaney, 29, pleaded guilty in Johnson County District Court to attempted second-degree murder, aggravated assault, felon in possession of a firearm, three counts of auto burglary, felony fleeing and eluding, and felony theft.

The charges stemmed from a shooting in Prairie Village on June 15, 2018, and an aggravated burglary and pursuit in Fairway on Oct. 14, 2017.

Chaney is set to be sentenced on June 4.
