KCKPS says power restored at Welborn Elementary School

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City, Kansas, Public Schools announced Saturday the power at Welborn Elementary School has been restored.

KCKPS said classes at the elementary school will be back in session Monday.

The school will operate on its regular schedule and buses will run the regular routes, per the school district.

"KCKPS look forward to welcoming our Welborn students and staff back," the update from the school district said.

Welborn Elementary School was the last school in the district to have its power restored. All other schools in the district returned for classes Friday.

The power outages were due to severe storms that hit Wyandotte County on Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.
