KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Brooke Smith owns Moonshot Hair Co. in Kansas City, Missouri. She closed her shop down in mid-March, and re-opened on May 15.

She spoke to 41 Action News Anchor Taylor Hemness, while cutting his hair, about the challenges she's faced, helping people cut their hair over FaceTime and how long she thinks these new precautions in her shop are sustainable.

"You're gonna do what you've got to do in order to be safe, and to be clean for everybody's health," Smith said. "I have clients with heart diseases, I have clients that deliver to their elderly parents. So, if that's what it takes, in order for us to keep our businesses open, it doesn't bother me. It's an inconvenience, but it's not detrimental to my business."

In addition to requiring her customers to wear masks, and use hand sanitizer prior to coming in the shop, Smith is also keeping appointments 45 minutes apart so she has time to clean her equipment and work station between customers.
