KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City, Missouri, police officers stand ready to lend a helping hand — to all species, it seems.
KCPD tweeted photos Thursday of officers on patrol in Loose Park who stopped to help a baby owl.
"Officers Powell & Kelloff were patrolling on foot in Loose Park yesterday when they saw this baby owl stuck on the ground next to a tree," KCPD wrote.

The officers called Kansas City, Missouri, Animal Health and Public Safety.
An animal health officer responded and took the owl to the Lakeside Nature Center.
