KCPD responds to standoff near Truman Sports Complex

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City, Missouri, police responded to a call and a standoff ensued near the Truman Sports Complex Tuesday morning.

It started just before 5: 30 a.m. and police said an armed person was outside, threatening suicide at Raytown Road and Ozark Road.

Raytown Road near Ozark Road was blocked in both directions while authorities were working to negotiate a peaceful resolution.

The subject was taken into police custody around 7:15 a.m. without any further incident.

That person will be arrested on warrants.
