KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A portion of Holmes Road near East 83rd Street in Kansas City, Missouri, was shut down Wednesday morning while police engaged in a standoff at a residence in the area.
According to police dispatch, a suspect in an armed robbery was inside a home near the intersection shortly before 10 a.m.
The standoff ended around 11:30 a.m. when the man came out of the home peacefully and was taken into custody.
Kansas City, Missouri, police said the standoff initially began when they were called to an armed street robbery a few blocks away around 8:45 a.m.
A man and woman at that location were detained and information provided by them led to the location where the standoff happened.
The investigation is ongoing.
