Kids learn the importance of agriculture at The American Royal

A record 5,300 kids from the Kansas City metro spent the week taking school tours of the American Royal to learn about the important role agriculture plays on a local, regional, national and international scale.

Qualifying youths from around the country will take part in the annual Youth Rodeo. This Friday and Saturday, the best cowboy's in the world will take part in a variety of events for the PRCA Rodeo. Finally, Harvester's, in collaboration with the American Royal and Bayer, is doing a food drive as part of National Hunger Awareness Month.

Below is a list of events going on throughout the weekend

  • Youth Rodeo, September 20 - 23
  • PRCA Rodeo, September 23 - 24
  • Harvester's Food Drive, September 24

The event is being held at Hale Arena at 1701 American Royal Court, Kansas City, Mo.
