KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Lee's Summit R-7 School District named an interim superintendent for the 2019-2020 school year on Monday.
Dr. Emily Miller will serve as interim superintendent for the year while the Board of Education searches for a permanent hire.
According to the district, Miller has served as a teacher, process coordinator, Assistant Superintendent of Special Services and Assistant Superintendent of Operations for Lee's Summit.
Miller takes the place of Dr. Dennis Carpenter, who resigned in July citing differences with the Board of Education. Miller was named acting superintendent at that time.
