KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Local leaders are sending their best wishes to President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump after it was announced both tested positive for COVID-19 Friday morning.
Missouri and Kansas leaders and political candidates woke to the news Friday and began sending messages to the First Family.
Missouri Gov. Mike Parson wished the Trumps a speedy recovery, while he and his wife recover from the virus themselves.
Teresa and I join Missourians and the nation in wishing President Donald J. Trump and First Lady Melania well as they navigate COVID-19 recovery.

Missouri State Auditor and gubernatorial candidate Nicole Galloway also sent her best wishes with a reminder that anyone can contract the virus.

Kansas City, Missouri, Mayor Quinton Lucas was up early Friday tweeting his wishes for a full recovery with a little bit of a commentary on the seriousness of the virus and the state of healthcare in the U.S.
As I said when our governor contracted COVID-19, I hope the President, First Lady, and all near them make a full recovery. I also hope the president will now understand how dangerous this highly contagious virus is, particularly for the many without our nation’s best medical care
