Two men who helped rescue an Overland Park family trapped on their rooftop are now on their way to Houston, Texas to help more families in need,
"I had a hard time last night finding a reason not to go down there," said Cyrus Dawson, who owns Stonehenge Landscape & Design.
For his landscaping business, Dawson bought an Oshkosh Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck — a high military surplus cargo truck.

Typically, Dawson uses the military-style truck to help haul material to different jobs.
Last week, however, he used it for the first time for a water rescue — helping a family of seven escape their flooded Overland Park home.
Now, Dawson and his employee, Spencer Sherf, will use it once again to help with water rescues in Houston.
"The rescue efforts down there are just so, so many and there’s not enough help right now," said Sherf. "Whatever we can do to help people out, we are here for that."
The two left Kansas City Monday night and are expected to get to Houston late Tuesday night.
Their truck should be able to safely navigate up to 7 feet of water. However, they are also bringing a jet ski and a 25-person survival raft to help with rescues.
"I would like to find where we can be the most useful," said Dawson.
