Many NE Johnson County cities see highest jump in property values

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Johnson County officials said 2020 Notices of Appraised Value have been released as of Monday.

The county said that 87 percent of residential property values increased this year, with the average increase hovering around 5 percent.

The official release said 84 percent of increases were 10 percent or less.

Areas with the highest increases include parts of Prairie Village, Roeland Park, Mission, De Soto, Leawood, Merriam and Overland Park.

Residential property owners can appeal the assessment online with a PIN number provided on the assessment by March 25. Commercial appeals are due by March 11.
