A Missouri Highway Patrol trooper suffered non life-threatening injuries in a crash at 152 Highway and Church Road at the end of a chase Friday afternoon.
Just after 1 p.m., the Clay County Sheriff’s Office asked the MHP for help while they were pursuing a van on US 69 from Excelsior Springs.
The sheriff's office said the license plate had been stolen.
The MHP said troopers were getting into position to assist on MO-152 just west of I-35 when the van took the exit in that direction and crashed into a trooper.

The trooper was transported to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries. The MHP said he was out of his vehicle and walking after the crash and before EMS arrived.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office said the suspect was taken to the hospital also as a precaution.
