If you see superheroes or some of your favorite anime characters walking around downtown Kansas City this weekend, there is a reason.

Planet Anime Kansas City is back inside Bartle Hall, bringing anime fans together for a weekend filled with cosplay, gaming, vendors, panels and celebrity guests.

The three-day convention runs until Sunday at the Kansas City Convention Center.

Saturday’s exhibit hall is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., with additional panels, programming and events continuing until midnight. The convention wraps up Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Even for people who may not consider themselves big anime fans, organizers said there is plenty to see and do.

The convention’s Anime Entertainment Zone includes esports and fighting game competitions, free-play video games, cosplay meetups, themed photo areas and other activities. Fans can also shop from dozens of exhibitors and artists throughout Bartle Hall.

One of the biggest draws is the chance to meet the voices behind familiar characters.

This year’s guest lineup includes Jim Cummings, known for "Winnie the Pooh" and "Tigger," Zach Aguilar from "Demon Slayer," and several actors from "Avatar: The Last Airbender," including Jack DeSena, Zach Eisen, Jennie Kwan and Olivia Hack.

More information, including the full guest list, schedule and tickets, is available on the Planet Anime Kansas City website.
