KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A motorcyclist was ejected and died from injuries suffered in a crash Sunday evening on Interstate 70 near Manchester Ave.
The crash, which involved a vehicle and a motorcycle, happened shortly before 6 p.m. on I-70 eastbound, according to Kansas City, Missouri, police.
Civilians attempted to perform CPR on the motorcyclists before emergency crews arrived on the scene, but the person died after being transported to the hospital.
Officials said on Thursday that the victim died as a result of severe head injuries even though he was wearing a helmet. He's been identified as a 35-year-old Raytown man.
Eastbound I-70 was shut down at Manchester Avenue was shutdown for about two hours while officials investigated.
