KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A motorcyclist died early Friday afternoon following a crash in Lee’s Summit.
The motorcyclist has been identified as Brian K. Dieckman, 23, of Lee's Summit.
A Lee’s Summit Police Department spokesperson said the crash shut down the southbound lanes of Highway 291 near 16th Street.
According to police, the motorcyclist was southbound on the highway when it collided with an SUV that was attempting to cross the highway heading east.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead on the scene.
