MSHP identifies man who drowned in Lake Jacomo

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Missouri State Highway Patrol said they located a man who went under in Lake Jacomo around 3:45 p.m. on Sunday.

The agency was assisting the Jackson County Sheriff's Office with the search for the missing man who went missing Saturday around 4 p.m.

According to the report, 31-year-old Fabian Torres-Torres of Kansas City, Missouri, jumped in the lake to rescue two children and did not resurface. He was not wearing a life vest.

According to MSHP the search was being conducted north of the lake's boat ramp located on the west shore.

41 Action News crews arrived Saturday evening to see underwater recovery equipment at the dock.

MSHP said just before 9:30 p.m. that the search would be called off for the night. The man still had not been located.

The search resumed Sunday morning around 8 a.m.
