KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Much of the Kansas City metro area will be under a heat advisory Monday afternoon.

While high temperatures will only reach the low 90s, the high humidity will contribute to heat index values between 100 and 108 degrees.

Similar conditions are expected on Tuesday before a cold front brings relief on Wednesday.

The National Weather Service advised people to stay out of the sun and in an air-conditioned room if possible.
