KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The northern portion of Missouri is bracing for what could be 6-10 inches of snow.

The area around 36 Highway and north is under a winter storm warning until 6 a.m. Tuesday.

Several counties in both Northeast Kansas and Northwest Missouri are included in the warning and some winter weather advisories are in effect.

Some school districts to the north have preemptively closed or switched to remote learning ahead of the expected storm.

While the Kansas City metro area won't receive the large amount of snow that Northern Missouri will, a dusting is possible in the Monday evening hours as cold rain could change over to flakes.
