One passenger died Sunday afternoon in a two-car collision at Little Blue Parkway and R.D. Mize Road in Independence.
According to the Independence Police Department, the crash occurred at 1:14 p.m. when a northbound Ford Escape making a left turn was struck by a southbound GMC Sierra.
The front passenger in the Escape died at the scene, but police withheld the name pending notification of family. The driver and rear passenger were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Sierra was treated and released at the scene.
