Around 5 a.m. Friday, Kansas City, Missouri, firefighters were called to the 4400 block of N. Indiana Avenue.

Smoke and fire were showing from the single story home.

One woman escaped the fire, but suffered severe smoke inhalation and was transported to an area hospital in critical, but stable condition.
