Kansas City police said seven people are in custody after one person received serious injuries from a shooting in south Kansas City.

KCPD said officers were called to 7101 Longview Road at about 7:20 p.m. Wednesday in regard to a shooting.

Upon arrival a shooting victim, a man in his late teens, was located near The Bay Water Park. He was transported to a local hospital in serious but stable condition.

Authorities said it appears the victim was shot in a nearby parking lot and ran to the water park for help.
