KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Overland Park couple, Shelia and Gus Rodriguez, have been married for more than 20 years. Shelia is from Kansas City and roots for the Chiefs. Her husband, however, was born and raised in the Bay Area and calls the 49ers his team.

Since championship day, it's been a competition of how each of them can show love to their respective teams. It started when Shelia told her husband he could hoist a 49ers flag alongside her Chiefs flag.

"I thought, you know, we will support both teams, so I ordered another flag," Shelia said. "Same height, shared the flag pole. Left for work one day, neighbors started texting me saying someone has put new flags on your home."

Then, her husband amped it up with a TV in the front window with a slideshow of 49ers logos. From there, projection screens were included, followed up with wrapping the house in Chiefs wrapping paper.

This house is used to being divided. It started with the World Series in 2014 World Series. Shelia rooting for the Royals and Gus, the Giants. But, it doesn't stop there.

"Kids go to two different schools, KU and K-State," Sheila said. "We are used to being a house divided and it's all in good fun."

The couple will hold a Super Bowl watch party. Gus said either one person at the party is going to be upset at the end of the game, or lots of people will.
