KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Every Thanksgiving, Kansas Citians have made a tradition of flocking to Fritz’s Meats in Kansas City, Missouri, to pick up a smoked turkey.

While the coronavirus pandemic isn’t standing in the way of Thanksgiving, it does mean people aren’t standing in line outside the business.

Fritz’s Meats owner Kurt McDonald said Tuesday that they’ve been encouraging customers to pick up their turkeys over the last several weeks and then to freeze them.

That means the traditional long-lines outside the store are gone.
