Authorities are investigating after a man was killed on Kansas City's east side early Thursday morning.
Officers responded to a shooting at a house in the 4000 block of Garfield Avenue following a call at 10:52 p.m. Wednesday. When police arrived, they said they found a man lying by the doorway. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities identified the victim as 49-year-old William McCallop of KCMO.
Police said there were at least two other people inside the home at the time of the shooting, but they weren't hurt. Detectives are talking to them.

Authorities said officers on the scene were familiar with the parties involved and received help from a witness. They conducted a residence check at 43rd and Wayne for the suspect. He was taken into custody at that residence, according to police.
