Police search for persons of interest in shooting that injured child

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Independence police need help finding four persons of interest in a shooting that seriously hurt a nine-year old girl.

Detectives are looking for 28-year old Ronald R. Wessley, 23-year old Hope L. Williams and two other unidentified men. All four are considered armed and dangerous.

The shooting happened Friday night along US 40 Highway and Sterling Avenue.

The child was in a vehicle that was involved in the exchange of gunfire. She was later dropped off at a nearby Walmart with her mother, by the driver of one of the vehicles involved in the shooting.

Police say the persons of interest were inside a black Dodge Durango with black wheels and Missouri license plate #: RE6K8K.
