KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One person was arrested after allegedly stealing a work truck in Westport last week, injuring a construction worker in the process, according to court records.
Luke Bacon, 26, was charged with felony stealing, second-degree assault and tampering with a motor vehicle in connection with the April 30 incident.
A Precision Cutting and Coring employee was using a concrete saw connected to a work truck when Bacon drove away with the truck, pinning the employee against a support wall, Kansas City, Missouri, police said in a probable cause statement.
The employee suffered a broken leg and deep lacerations to his arm, according to the statement.
GPS installed in the truck allowed authorities to track it as it entered Kansas. Bacon led authorities to Bourbon County, Kansas, before being arrested, according to the statement.
Bond for Bacon was set at $50,000.
