Raymore businesses evacuated after gas leak; roads closed

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Emergency crews were called to a gas leak in Raymore, Missouri, on Monday morning.

According to a post on the city’s Facebook page, a contractor hit a gas line under Dean Avenue near Missouri 58.

City officials said that nearby business were evacuated “out of an abundance of caution.”

Just before 12:15 p.m., Raymore city officials said crews had successfully clamped the leak. Several hours later, Missouri 58 reopened, though officials said Dean Avenue would remain closed for the rest of the day.
