KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Raytown School District is the latest metro district to increase pay for substitute teachers.
The district announced Tuesday night that both teachers and instructional assistants will receive the pay bump.
Teacher substitutes will see an increase to $130 per day. For long-term substitute teachers, pay will reach $150 per day.
Instructional assistant pay, both regular and long-term, now is $110 per day.
In November, Center School District increased pay for its substitute teachers as a solution to a substitute teacher shortage.
