KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Students in the Raytown C-2 School District will continue with remote learning after winter break.

The district’s Board of Education voted last week to extend virtual learning until Jan. 20.

Staff will return to school buildings on Jan. 19 for a professional workday, with Three Trails and elementary students who choose to be in the classroom returning Jan. 20. Those students will attend classes in-person on a normal schedule, according to an update from the district.

New Trails Early Learning Center, Northwood School and middle and high school students “in self-contained programs” who opted for in-person instruction will be back in the classroom as normal, with the exception of Fridays. Friday will continue as a virtual learning day.

Beginning on Jan. 21, Herndon Career Center students on the “B day” schedule will resume instruction at their normal times. “A day” students are expected to return Jan. 25, the district stated in the update.

The career center’s classes will be 50% in-person and 50% virtual.

Students are scheduled to return to in-person instruction (for those who selected in-person instruction) Monday-Friday on their normal schedule: 7:10 a.m. to 2:10 p.m.

Middle and high school students will not be back in the classroom until after spring break in April.

More information can be found on the school district’s website.
