LEVASY, Mo. — It’s been nearly a month since the small town of Levasy, Missouri, was hit by floodwaters.
Waters have since receded, but it’s a long recovery as the cleanup continues.
A Red Cross shelter was set up in the neighboring town, Buckner, Missouri at United Methodist.
On Monday, the American Red Cross is going door-to-door in Levasy from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. to discuss resources with residents. They’re also assisting in creating recovery plans.
Theres will also be a flood help line to report any flood damage and also receive Red Cross resources. The line is open 24/7 and can be reached at (314) 516-2769.
Callers will be asked to provide their name, address and contact information, and receive a followup call from a Red Cross volunteer.
Red Cross stated that volunteers will aid callers in the development of an individualized recovery plan and inform them of available resources from partner agencies.
