KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A pedestrian was hit and killed by a semi tractor-trailer Saturday on eastbound Interstate 70 near Main Street, according to Kansas City, Missouri, police.
Police were called to a crash on the north side of the downtown loop just after 11:30 a.m.
The semi was traveling east on I-70 when the pedestrian, later identified as 34-year-old Jared Miller of Kansas City, crossed the interstate on the north side of the roadway heading south, police said. The semi driver did not see the pedestrian in time.
Miller was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the semi was not injured.
Several lanes of I-70 were shut down for during the investigation.
