KANSAS CITY, Mo. – City of Shawnee staff say a crossing guard is not needed at an intersection where a boy riding a bike was struck last month.
Staff reviewed details of both the Sept. 11 incident and the intersection of W. 55th Street and Rosehill Road and determined a crossing guard wasn’t needed.
The review of the incident indicated that both the boy, 12, and the car ignored the stop sign.
The review was prompted by concerns by neighbors and the school district about the lack of a crossing guard for the nearby Ray Marsh Elementary School.
