KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Overland Park Convention Center is slated to host the first-ever Open Season Sportsman’s Expo in March.

The series announced Tuesday that the convention will come to Overland Park from March 12-14.

The announcement comes amid uncertainly surrounding any future local and state health department guidance surrounding the coronavirus pandemic.

"We can’t wait to get to Overland Park and introduce the Open Season Sportsman’s Expo to the state of Kansas and the Kansas City metropolitan area,” Bonnier Events vertical outdoor director Chris O’Hara said in a news release. “Kansas is home to 300,000 acres of public lands and more than 1 million acres of private land that is open to hunters and is ranked as one of the top states for pheasant and quail. As we continue to expand the Open Season Sportsman’s Expo brand, Overland Park plays a key role in our strategic growth.”

The expo will feature hunting, fishing gear and products as well as options for outdoors people.
