Nearly 40,000 fans flock to Kauffman Stadium to watch the Royals play ball, but when severe weather hits, safety is the team's first priority.
"We would close our upper deck and suggest to those guests that they come down to the lower level or plaza level. In the event of severe weather we would move fans underground into our tunnels," said The Royals' coordinator of publicity, Amanda Turk.
The Royals use the concourse as a shelter, as well as the restrooms.
