Thousands of people decked out in pink hit the streets Saturday morning for the 8th annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk.
The event raises awareness and funds for the American Cancer Society. Many people held pink balloons to remember those who lost their fight.

The funds go toward breast cancer research, education, and services for those battling the disease.
Organizers expected more than 12,000 participants, raising over $200,000.
The event started at 9am at Crown Center and was free.
