UPDATE, 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, May 26 | Kansas City, Kansas, police say a 17-year-old male who was transported to an area hospital with critical injuries died later on Sunday.

PREVIOUS | One man is fighting for his life and two others were recovering in the hospital after a triple shooting in Kansas City, Kansas, overnight.

KCK police responded to the 1200 block of Argentine Boulevard just before 2 a.m. Sunday. When they arrived, they found evidence on scene and talked with the complainant.

They then responded to an area hospital where a man, approximately 18 years old, was found with a life-threatening gunshot wound.

Two additional men were located with non-life threatening injuries.

The KCK Criminal Investigation Bureau is investigating.

Prior to the shooting Sunday morning, a recent uptick in crime caught the attention of KCK police. In a letter to the Argentine community earlier this week in a Facebook post, police said that on April 28, a shooting at a convenience store in the 2100 block of Metropolitan left a clerk "critically injured," and on May 18, 17-year-old Jesus Abarca was fatally shot in the 1100 block of Metropolitan.

Suspects in the April shooting are in custody, while police have no suspects in the May 18 shooting.
