One of the victims of Friday's highway shooting died Saturday, and police are now treating the incident as a homicide.
Two young men were injured in the "rolling shooting," which consisted of shots being fired from one vehicle at another near the Interstate 70/Interstate 670 split.
Both victims were transported to the hospital, and Deonta C. Jones, 22, died early Friday afternoon. His family has been notified.
The victims were found in a black Camaro; police say they are searching for a maroon GMC Envoy that may have been occupied by the shooters. According to a news release from the KCKPD, the Envoy has a dark window tint and a yellowed plastic license plate cover.
