KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A crossover traffic crash Wednesday morning killed two people in Franklin County, Kansas.

The Kansas Highway Patrol crash report stated that the two-vehicle accident killed James Tracy, 67 and Harry Mock Jr., 14, both of Rantoul, Kansas.

The two were traveling east about 7:15 a.m. on Kansas Highway 68, about eight miles east of Ottawa.

Tracy lost control of the 1998 Volkswagen Passat and hit a steel guardrail, according to the crash report.

The car went into the westbound lane of the highway and was hit on both passenger side doors of the car by a Ford Explorer.

The 40-year-old Paola woman driving the SUV suffered a possible minor injury, according to the report.

Tracy and Mock were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash.
