UPDATE 1:30 PM 5/6/2017: Officials say Kyle Weiler has contacted police and is safe.
Kyle Weiler walked into the emergency department at The University of Kansas Hospital seeking help and then left six minutes later.
Hospital staff members were very concerned for his well being, according to a news release from the University of Kansas Health System.
Police said Weiler was last seen heading east out of the hospital main entrance.
He was wearing a black and red plaid shirt and dark pants.
