KANSAS CITY, Mo. — You may have got one: a robocall about the negotiations for a new KCI. But it's unknown, as of Friday night, who is behind them.
Kansas City's official Twitter account tweeted, "We hear that many residents are receiving robo-calls about KCI terminal negotiations. These are NOT from your City government." The city said it does not know who is behind the calls.

According to the Kansas City Star, the calls are anti-Edgemoor and say the developer is not the right choice to build a new terminal.
41 Action News reached out to Edgemoor Friday night. In a statement, Managing Director Geoffrey Stricker said:
"Throughout the procurement, our team has done everything requested of us by the City; we've operated with full transparency and respect for the process put forth by our client. Integrity and honesty are fundamental to how we do business. We are disappointed that the procurement process is being undermined. These actions not only impact our team, but are detrimental to the City and its citizens."
Edgemoor won the bidding process with the city in September. But in December, the City Council, citing several concerns, voted down the original memorandum of understanding.
On Thursday, the City Council learned about the updates Edgemoor made to the deal. The negotiation team will continue working out a deal. They hope to reach on by the end of January.
