KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Veterans Community Project is asking for the public's help choosing a design to turn a tiny home into a children's playhouse.

The nonprofit's mission is to end veteran homelessness. It recently completed its tiny home village for veterans at East 89th Street and Troost Avenue.

VCP is partnering with the Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City for the playhouse project.

The winning design will be announced in January, and then volunteers will begin construction.

The completed tiny playhouse will be on display at the Greater Kansas City Home & Lifestyle Show March 13-15 at Bartle Hall.

It will be auctioned off to the highest bidder at the show. The proceeds will benefit the Veterans Community Project.

In addition to VCP's tiny-home-turned-playhouse, KCHBA said there will be a 'Parade of Playhouses.'

The accompanying playhouse will be built by KCHBA members and local high schools. They will be sold in an online auction, with the proceeds also benefitting VCP.
