OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - Veterans groups and Boy Scouts removed the hundreds of flags from the Independence Day display along Metcalf Avenue early Saturday morning.
Every year the groups put up the flags on Metcalf Avenue from 95th Street to College Avenue, for Independence Day.
Many stores make donations to have the flags placed outside their business to pay tribute.
This morning the groups started at 6am to gather up the flags and store them - for the next event.
