KCMO officials say they'll be able to remove blighted buildings faster over the next two years with a recent $10 million initiative.
The program aims to demolish or rehabilitate the city's 800 dangerous buildings.
The city needs more help from contractors to get it done. They invite contractors to learn more at a 9 a.m. meeting at the Mohart Center auditorium on Tuesday.
They'll talk about the bidding process and encourage contractors to get involved. The address is 3200 Wayne Avenue, Kansas City, Missouri.

Before this year, the city had around $1 million set aside for blight. Assistant City Manager John Wood is confident they'll finally be able to make a difference.
Many blighted buildings are still privately owned, adding an extra hurdle for the city to gain control and be able to demolish.
