A female suspect who turned herself in for allegedly stabbing a woman to death in Kansas City, Missouri, has been released by police.
According to officials, the subject of interest was released pending further investigation. It's unclear if the suspect was acting in self-defense.
Police were called to a disturbance near 109th and Greenwood just after 11:30 p.m. Saturday night, where they found an African American woman in her 30s suffering from stab wounds.
Witnesses reported the woman was involved in a fight with another person. The female victim was transported to a hospital where she later died from her injuries. The victim has been identified as 33-year-old Latioya George of KCMO.
